Meditation & Mindfulness
When we are stressed out our sympathetic nervous system is keeping the body in a state of fight or flight. Being engaged in a survival mode for a long period of time without a break causes for the body to have difficulty resting, absorbing nutrients, and healing. This results in sickness and burn out.
Our parasympathetic nervous system is in charge of healing, digestion, and replenishing our immune system. Activating our immune system allows us to recuperate and recharge. Through meditation and mindfulness, we can consciously activate this part of our nervous system and exercise self-care as we re-balance by refreshing our body, mind, and soul throughout the day.
Meditation and Mindfulness require minor effort, but offer major payoffs. Meditative exercises, such as deep breathing or grounding your senses in your present moment, activate your parasympathetic nervous system and thus your ability to heal, rest, and digest.
Meditation is an intentional practice to expand your awareness by focusing inward. By meditating, you increase calmness, concentration, and emotional balance to experience inner peace by clearing the mind. Although there are different kinds of meditations, we offer courses in Breath Awareness, Mantra Based, Visualization, and Guided meditation, each one with a specific purpose.
Mindfulness is the act of paying attention, noticing, and being present in what you’re doing. A recent study at Harvard found that people spend 46.9% of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they are doing. Worrying about what they need to do or should have done causes for less productivity and more stress. Practicing mindfulness helps to be actively involved in the activity, which improves your focus and boost productivity, decrease stress, and the ability to enjoy life in the present moment.
In our Meditation & Mindfulness workshops, we teach you all you need to know about Breath Awareness, Mantra Based meditation, Visualization, and Guided meditation. We also teach you how to engage in mindfulness throughout the day to get in touch with ourselves.
Breath Awareness - Join your breath, body, and mind to bring attention to the natural sensation of the breath and body. Since your breath is your soul, following the breath increases your sense of self and peace. This allows you to connect with your inner being.
Mantra Based meditation - Mantras are words, phrases, or sounds you can repeat, chant, or sing out loud or in your mind as you meditate. They help to release your mind, boost awareness, and improve concentration. Giving the mind something to focus on allows it to slow down and re-center.
Visualization meditation - Allows you to train inwards to manifest outwards. Combine breathing awareness and mantra based meditation to focus and center in order to actively engage with your awareness and choose what you want to feel and manifest. This visualization allows you to visit different situations you will experience in life and feel the emotions before those events happen. This includes confronting fears and obstacles or achieving your goals to give yourself the opportunity to reflect inwards, re-train your mind, and successfully move through these situations because you have already experienced it.
Guided meditation - Under the guidance of a practitioner, achieve or enhance the meditative state by reviewing the previous meditation methods and moving your energy in certain ways. We will teach you how moving your energy will release stress, alleviate physical pains, lower irrational thinking and anxiety, and improve coping skills, focus, and your ability to have a positive mindset.
We currently only offer these workshops online through zoom for $250 for each 4-hour workshop where we cover these four types of Meditation & Mindfulness.
